President’s Message 2026

February 2026

To all the Members,

I’m in the middle of a big fire training effort and am burning the candle at both ends. Not much else is getting done besides keeping the Model T running!

I had to get into the carburetor and think I got that solved but then dropped the top for a ride over the weekend and was reminded that the top needs some work too.

It didn’t matter because the weather was great for a drive!

I hope everyone else is going for a drive now and again. We have not settled on a calendar of events and perhaps we can work on that this week.

We have an option for joining a Mini tour in Lampasas and I got a note about another Mini tour in Schulenberg. Then of course there are the local shows, Lone Star Custom Round Up and the Kingsbury Fly-in.

We started discussions about a Mini tour or two in the Hill Country and in the parking lot after the last meeting we got to talking about a rally. Too many options perhaps.

Gota run, perfect weather for a burn, better for a drive!

Glen Gillman,
President

January 2026

To all the Members,

I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I for one had to work a fair bit and fix some stuff but did get to spend some time with family and snuck off to the desert for a few days. I’ve already broken most of my New Years Resolutions, one of which was to be better about communicating with the club, but there is still hope!

We would like to collect any good photos from the Christmas Party. I have some my wife has taken but Joe mentioned that maybe there was a group shot that was taken. Does anyone have that? Please send any photos to me. If the files are too large we can collect at the next meeting.

Speaking of the next meeting, please consider any programs you might have ready. I do have a slide show from the last Texas T Party that will do in a pinch but a guest or maybe something different, a game maybe, might be more interesting. Mull it over.

I have received a request for cars for an event and would like to see who is interested so we can provide a commitment to them sometime next week. The details are vague and I have two groups that have contacted me. It looks like they want to stage 1-4 cars downtown during SXSW from March 12-16. One group also mentioned the possibility of a short caravan each day. They are looking for 1919 and/or 1920 models, but it appears that anything that looks similar would do. They did not specify models. They are insured.

Who’s interested and what questions do you have? If you are interested please send a photo of your car as I suspect they will ask for that.

Things I’ll clarify:

  • Rate for car and driver.
  • Support for transport
  • Security for event.
  • Covered or uncovered storage.

This request was forwarded from Hugh Hemphill so if we can not met the request we can work with other clubs to support.

Lastly, we had discussed a drive sometime in January but are already a third of the way through the month. Does anyone have any interest or thoughts? Petra’s nephew from Germany will be in town next weekend so I will be getting my car ready for a drive next weekend regardless. That might be here around town but if the group is interested in doing something next weekend we could make some quick arrangements. We can also work out something for the later part of the month.

Get your motors running!
Glen Gillman,
President
